Family Lawyer
I am a qualified collaborative lawyer, an accredited family law mediator, arbitrator, and parenting coordinator. I firmly believe in the Collaborative process as a method of resolving matters arising from a separation. The Collaborative approach is one of civility, honesty, and an unwavering desire to remain out of court. Practicing exclusively family law since 2004, I have assisted clients at all stages of their relationship, the commencement and the breakdown. A majority of my time practicing family law has been in litigation in Provincial and Supreme Courts. I was also Director's counsel for the Ministry of Children and Family Development for many years. I continue to litigate; however, I have shifted my practice to dispute resolution, with litigation being the final option, not the first. I sat on the Board of Collaborative Divorce Vancouver and am a member of the Canadian Bar Association, Trial Lawyers Association of BC and the Association of Legal Aid Lawyers.
