Allison (she/her) began her counselling career in Vancouver while working with families struggling with the impacts of alcohol and substance misuse. Over the years she has been part of many non-profit teams: Mental Health Outreach counselling on the North Shore, the Child Psychiatric Unit at BC Children's Hospital; Vancouver Coastal Health Mental Health and Addictions and held a contract with the BC Responsible and Problem Gambling Program. Allison Rice currently works as an Individual & Family Therapist in her own private practice and oversees a growing team of Counselling Associates. Allison meets with clients on the phone and online. When asked to share about why she works in this field, Allison expresses herself emphatically and wholeheartedly "I believe that change IS possible and that people can find freedom from their struggles no matter how deeply entrenched the patterns have become or how slight the change might need to be." Growing up Allison played a ton of sports while learning the violin among many other things. She played with Badminton Canada and was Athlete of the Year at Douglas College in 1999. She then spent a few years traveling and working for a circus company in Toronto as a musical entertainer. Allison continues to play violin with her friends and badminton as time permits. She is close with her large modern family and spends much of her free time walking her dog on the many nature trails around her house or in the garden. I believe that for most families, the legal issues between separating couples are best dealt with out of court. My experience in court has taught me that giving up control over the outcome to a judge rarely leaves people satisfied. While there are often compromises in a collaborative process, people are usually happier with the outcomes, and relationships can be preserved. I began my career working in corporate and technology law but quickly sought more of a human connection to the work I did. I trained in collaborative law and mediation in 2002 and 2003. I then worked in the areas of family law, parent/teen mediation, and eventually child protection law as counsel for the Director of Child, Family and Community Service. I left the full-time practice of child protection law, but wishing to keep my focus on helping people and children, refocused my practice on general family law and mediation. I was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree (English major) from the University of Calgary in 1996 and a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of Alberta in 1999. I reside in Vancouver with my husband and two children and enjoy cycling, walks with friends and family, and teaching yoga.

Andrea is a certified collaborative family law lawyer who has practiced exclusively in the area of divorce and family law since 2010. Andrea began her legal career in Calgary, Alberta before moving back home to Vancouver in 2020. Andrea has extensive experience drafting prenuptial, cohabitation and marriage agreements as well as assisting clients negotiate a wide range of issues, including guardianship, parenting, child and spousal support and the division of family property. I am a family and fertility lawyer as well as a family law mediator and collaborative divorce practitioner. I practice exclusively in the areas of family and fertility law and have represented clients at provincial court, supreme court, and the Court of Appeal. In addition to my family law practice, I am fortunate to work with families in the areas of reproductive technology, adoption, and parentage (including polyamorous and multi-parent families). I am committed to helping my clients transition through life's major changes (marriage, separation, family building) by providing thoughtful and savvy counsel in a safe and empathetic environment. I am a member of Fertility Law BC, CBA, FACL and TLABC. She recently served on the Parentage Law Reform Committee through the BC Law Institute. I was called to the bar in 2008. After spending a few years in the criminal bar, I have been practicing exclusively in the family law since 2013.
